Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She grew up as part of a multiethnic household. Jacqueline's father Elroy is Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is a Malaysian. She is the younger of two brothers and a brother who is older. She was raised and born in Bahrain. Her parents had been to the country in the 1980s as a result of the turmoil that occurred in Sri Lanka. The schooling she completed was within Bahrain and she won an Scholarship for an education at University of Sydney. There she earned a Media and Communications degree. As a lover of culture and languages, she enrolled in Berlitz Language School where she learned Spanish as well as enhancing her French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March of 2006, and later participated as Miss Universe 2006 also. In 2006, she was awarded she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Then, she stepped into the world of television, hosting an interview show on Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the daughter of former badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. While still a teenager, Padukone competed in a variety of championships for national badminton. But she gave up her passion for the game when she decided to become a fashion model. Padukone is a native of Mangalore, India. The language she speaks is Konkani is where she comes from. Her lineage is from Padukone village located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of the state of Karnataka, India. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is an old badminton player who is of world-class fame, while her mother is a travel agent.
